As the Clock Strikes Midnight

As the clock strikes midnight people across the world turn to making New Years Resolutions.  I've never been big on making resolutions.  Is it that my life is so perfect that there isn't a single thing I cannot change?  Or perhaps I'm just to lazy to change.  Or perhaps a quote from Bif Naked is the answer: "I'm rather conditioned to my life of melodrama."

Whatever the reason I've just never connected with deciding on a single day to change the rest of the life.  I'm not a rash person.  I've never been one to make decisions on the spur of the moment.  Hell, it took me most of the evening to choose out a new cover for my cell phone for crying out loud.  And even then I couldn't decide on just one, and instead picked up an entire set of them.  So for me to sit there and randomly decide that because its the beginning of a New Year I'm going to change this, that and everything is a terrifying thought.

This year though I have set a goal for myself.  Enter my coupon savings journal.  In the last couple of years I've really let up on my couponing.  I've never been of the same caliber as the couponers featured on Extreme Couponing, but at my hay day I did save a pretty penny. I know that being that I live in the North my coupon saving abilities are no where near what they were in the past, but this year I am going to go full out on trying to save as much as humanly possible.

Its not an empty promise to myself, and I think a worthwhile endeavour.  Afterall, who couldn't use a couple extra dollars in their pockets?
